Dale Baxter
Dale joined DCGR in 2011, and took over leadership when the founder moved to another state. Dale has been a percussionist in musical theatre and in volunteer orchestras for many years. He is happy that his colleagues are now doing the heavy lifting, and is proud of the recent growth they have been able to achieve.


Dan Terpstra
In 2023 Dan finally found the Grand Rapids Drum Circle and quickly became involved as a cheerleader, participant, and PR person for the group. Beyond drum circling, Dan is a full time photographer, videographer, and drone pilot and makes a ridiculous amount of music in his spare time. Dan is married to Michele, another frequent player in the group.
Joe Thaler
In mid 2023 Joe began regularly coming to the Drum Circle and helping to foster our growth. Joe has also been working with Josh Dunigan at community events around West Michigan as Dr. DataBeats, with his community electronic music workstation “Digital Music Playland”.

President-elect of the international Drum Circle Facilitators Guild, Josh shares his time making music with thousands of people per year both in the community and classroom environments.
Leah Ivory
Expertly trained in the African style of drumming and dancing at the Tam Tam Mandingue Djembe Academy. Leah leads many music programs in the area and has dedicated her life to teaching others.
